Abstract

Allergy to cats is an important cause of discomfort and asthma and consequent health care expenditure and loss of productivity. It is proposed to develop, produce and market a vaccine for cats against their own allergenic proteins. After vaccination less allergen is present on fur, and humans in contact with such cats are less exposed, thus reducing symptoms in allergic persons and reducing the risk of becoming allergic in non-allergic persons.
