Colibri: A novel, innovative insulin delivery system for the insulin pen market

Abstract (German)

We develop a new insulin delivery system replacing pen injection and syringes used by ca. 95% of diabetes patients, to help them manage injections in a discreet and comfortable way. Our unique system is based on a disposable battery-free patch attached to the body for 4 days providing the drug, and a hand-held device that provides energy to the patch in an innovative manner (magnetic coupling) for insulin delivery. Our system competes with insulin pens at similar costs.
