SAIGA - Small Antenna InteGrated in hearing Aids
Abstract
(English)
Wireless connectivity is a key feature for enhanced performance and comfort of modern hearing systems. This project proposes an integrated antenna system for the new, fully digital communication platform envisioned by Phonak, destined to devices placed behind-the-ear (BTE).The objective is to develop a miniature antenna that fits in the company?s BTE devices and operates in the 2.4 GHz frequency range with the required efficiency. The antenna will be optimised for off-body communication, enabling connectivity e.g. to wireless microphones or multimedia/communication devices, and on-body communication, enabling e.g. transmission between two BTE ear-to-ear devices or other use cases involving body-worn devices.
