End of 2012 the Swiss National Council followed the request of the Swiss Federal Council and accepted the Postulate Amarelle (12.38581). This Postulate asked for an evaluation report of the migration partnerships concluded by Switzerland by the end of 2014. The reason for the Federal Council to accept this Postulate is that migration partnerships are a relatively new instrument of the Swiss foreign migration policy. In 2014, five years after the first migration partnership was concluded, an initial reflection on the results achieved so far can be made.
