1. Share experiences and lessons on the role and work of Col/FFMs in investigating violations of international human rights and humanitarian law and their various mandates;
2. Broaden the understanding of issues related to the effectiveness and impact of Col/FFMs by key actors such as Member States, civil society organizations and researchers/academics, to positively influence their action towards strengthening effectiveness and impact;
3. Increase knowledge on Col/FFMs and encourage a collaborative approach with relevant on-going research and académie Initiatives with a view to avoiding duplication and addressing gaps.
4. Contribute to the publication of acknowledged guideline and standards in this regard Result:
1. To identify some key guiding principles, as well as conceptual gaps to frame Col/FFMS mandate and functioning;
2. To identify the next steps to define some norms and standards on Col/FFMs.
