Short description (English)

This project with Swisspeace has the aim of discussing and Consulting with specialists, Swiss diplomats, civil society and other relevant stakeholders how Guiding Principle 7 (Supporting Business Respect for Human Rights in conflict-affected areas) should best be implemented by Switzerland.

Swisspeace will make recommendations as to how Switzerland should integrate a conflict sensitive approach into its national strategy on the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Project aims (English)

The development of a coherent strategie approach to the implementation of Principle 7 will help ensure that Swiss representations abroad have the means to counsel companies operating abroad in conflict affected an high risk areas so they have a positive effect on the environment they operate in and do not contribute to confiicts or human rights violations.

Swisspeace will deliver documentation and publications as well as establish a network and make recommendations about how Switzeriand could integrate Principle 7 in the Swiss strategy to implement the UN Guiding Principles.
