Abstract (Deutsch)

Cracking at the end of the load-carrying contact zone is the life-limiting failure mechanism of attachments of last stage blades of steam turbines. The project covers the development of a proper assessment and design of the end of contact of fir tree grooves. It includes a comprehensive validation with component like tests. The method and designs developed will be implemented in new turbines and, as repair solutions, in existing steam turbines, to increase efficiency.
