Enhancing wood durability and physical properties through innovative bio-based sustainable treatments
Abstract
(German)
Despite the carcinogenic statement announced in 2000, as no satisfying substituent could be developed yet, treatment of railway sleepers by creosote impregnation, still tolerated, led to a partial replacement of wooden sleepers by concrete substituents. In collaboration with Corbat Holding, to promote the use of indigenous hardwood, an innovative treatment for wood based on bio-based molecules will be developed within the project.
