This project aims at expioring the potential of light portable ICT devices to help apprentices capture meaningful experiences at the workplace and to store them in an electromc portfolio. We hypothesize that, through regular discussions of these portfolio with their work supervisors and with their teachers, the apprentices will learn to identifS‘ more accurately which meamngful experiences are made at the workplace and what makes them useflul for learning. The project will address the following research questions:
- What kind ofportable ICT devices can best serve as tools (1) to capture experiences made at the workplace and (2) to store images ofthese experiences for their training? (study 1)
- How do apprentices and supervisors construe and identify meaningful experiences and significant competences acquired at the workplace? Are apprentices able to capture “meaningful“ experiences using portable ICT devices? Is the relevance ofthese images linproving along apprentices‘ training? (study 2)
- Are frequency, quality and richness ofthe interactions between apprentices and supervisors improved on the basis of such e-portfolios elaborated aiound pictures taken from the work done at the workplace? (study 3)
- Can teachers make use at school ofthe “meaningful experiences“ captured at the workplace ICT? (study 4)
