Aim of this project is to provide a better understanding of the use of reinforcing fibers as strengthening agents in bioceramic cements. Specifically, it aims at determining the mechanical competence of a prototype osteoconductive injectable cement before and after reinforcement, as well as the effectiveness of the reinforcement when the cement is injected into trabecular bone. The biological integration of the reinforced bioceramic cement will be quantitatively estimated.
