Precisely Engineered Nanocrystals and their Superstructures for Advanced Li-ion Batteries
Abstract
(German)
Lithium Batteries are the key technology for the majority of rechargeable battery systems in portable electronics and for e-mobility. To have increased market chances for a new battery system, a clear unique sales position is necessary. A very promising technology is the use of precisely engineered inorganic nanocrystals/nanoparticles (3-100 nm) and superstructures based on them. This innovative technology relies on the size-tunability down to several nanometres, self-organization phenomena and facile miscibility with other materials, and provides new and cheaper production methods with good energy efficiency in comparison with other techniques such as etching, annealing, sintering or vacuum-based growth.
