Toward better performing alignment films for the LCD industry: a computationally inspired strategy
Abstract
(German)
The Rolic LCMO technology of photo-alignment film production for liquid crystal industry relies on UV-induced chemical reactions making anisotropic polymer systems which in turn induce alignment of liquid crystals. Two innovation keystones are built in this project: a simulation strategy and tools to unravel the relationship between molecular structure and properties, and the achievement of novel products for displays, largely used for touch panels, with lower energy consumption and greener manufacturing processing than presently available products.
