Constellium Valais (ex-Alusuisse) produces Aluminium products for transportation and industry. DIAPASON is a breakthrough innovation, allowing joint solidification during casting of two alloys with different properties. Project goal is to master the DIAPASON casting process by simulations and physical trials. CTI funds are requested to support research at EPFL¿s Computational Materials Lab to optimize the process. The ultim the objective is to industrialize DIAPASON and introduce new high-value Al products to market, grow share and protect Swiss jobs.
