Bewusst Robust: Entwicklung eines SNP-Chips zur Verbesserung der genomischen Selektion von stoffwechselstabilen Milchkühen
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
Many of the health disorders observed in dairy cows originate from a sub-optimal metabolic adaptation to the nutrient demands for milk synthesis, especially during the start-up phase of lactation. A selection for metabolically stable dairy cows would ensure efficient milk production without compromising health and wellbeing. In the proposed project, genetic polymorphisms will be identified and evaluated, which are causal for the phenotypic variation in metabolic adaptive capability in dairy cows. The aim is to develop a SNP-chip for breeding metabolically robust dairy cows.
