Seasonal Heat Management Films - Passive Smart Glazings (Films4Glazing)
Abstract
(German)
Develop cost efficient, scalable film technology for solar heat management in buildings based on (nano structured inorganic surfaces) designed to selectively reflect (IR) radiations depending on the illumination angle of the sun (smart window). 50% of the overall energy demand in buildings (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and lighting) originates from areas depending on the windows envelop. To improve the CO2 footprint cost effective smart glazing solutions are essential, as the majority of the world residential windows still consists of single-pane glasses.
