The target market of the requested project is the aerospace and energy industry.|The project focuses on delivering a high performance EDM drilling process with newly developed Drill 300 machine featuring most advanced generator and servo control. Keeping surface integrity as highest priority, process technology understanding gained through proposed project delivers very high erosion speeds with low tool wear for increasingly used aerospace materials (titanium and nickel alloys). It makes EDM drilling customer-tailored, economic, environmental friendly and lead to a competent process for sub-millimetre scale hole drilling in turbine blades and other aerospace parts.
