Geosatis: Building a Robust and Secure Electronic Offender Monitoring System
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
Geosatis SA is a start-up company developing a real-time location tracking system for electronic offender monitoring. The company has already developed a first version for the product, which is undergoing small-scale evaluation by the Fondation Vaudoise de Probation (FVP) as of July 2012. This project addresses the challenges that stand in the way of commercialization: First, the products novel and unique robust design requires a number of optimizations to the casing and the manufacturing process to improve the durability and ergonomy. Second, with the emergence of GPS spoofing attacks, the tracking component of the product must be secured against attacks that violate location tracking integrity. The academic partners, Laboratoire des Polymères at HE-ARC led by Prof. Anne Polikeit, and Systems Security Group at ETHZ led by Prof. Srdjan Capkun provide the expertise necessary to tackle these challenges.
