A protein engineering technology will be developed for induction of antigen-specific immunological tolerance,|applicable for tolerance to protein drugs and to autoimmunity antigens. In this project, the technology will be|developed in the context of reducing the unwanted immunogenicity reactions towards the therapeutic protein|drug uricase (urate oxidase, Rasburicase), by engineering tolerogenic forms of uricase and thus enabling|safe treatment of tumor lysis syndrome and gout.
