Ziel der Machbarkeitsstudie ist die Entwicklung einer neuartigen Barriereschicht, die Kunststoffoberflächen vor oxidativem Abbau schützt. Sie soll als Prophylaxe vor Vergilbungs- und Versprödungsreaktionen an Kunst und Kulturgut eingesetzt werden und dem Oxidationsbedingten Materialabbau entgegenwirken. Hinsichtlich der präventiven Anwendung steht die Entwicklung eines im Innenraum wirksamen und reversiblen Produktes mit hoher Alterungsstabilität im Vordergrund.
