Research and development of a novel verification system for brand protection against counterfeiters based on digital fingerprint technology. The system consists of an optical verification device reading a product's surface structure on a microscopic level and a software system calculating and comparing the structure against a pre-recorded set in a database. Since every microscopic structure of a product is unique due to its given natural randomness, every single item can be checked if it is an original product or a fake from a counterfeiter.
