Description succincte (Anglais)

Within the framework of a doctorate research project on „Negotiating Statehood in Sudan" reaiised by Martina Santschi, Swisspeace is herewith mandated to scientifically analyse and support on the operational level processes induced by the project "House of Nationalities" (later on COTAL, Council of Traditional Authority Leaders), the enactment of the COTAL bilis on State and GOSS (Government of South Sudan)-Ievei, the eiection/seiection of the COTAL members and other peace promotion initiatives. Data made available to the Human Security Division/Desk Greater Horn of Africa shall enrich Strategie and conceptuel reflections concerning future peace promotion and State building programs in South Sudan.

Objectifs du projet (Allemand)

Im Rahmen des Engagements mit traditionellen Autoritäten erteilt die AMS an Swisspeace den Auftrag, in Form eines wissenschaftlichen Backstopping, AMS-Aktivitäten mit traditionellen Autoritäten zu begleiten.
Ziel des Mandates von Swisspeace ist es, aktuelle Entwicklungen betreffend dem COTAL Gesetzgebungsprozess, der Wahl/Ernennung von COTAL-Mitgliedern sowie der Gesetzgebung für einen 11. COTAL auf Bundesebene zu analysieren und zu unterstützen. Zusätzlich wird Martina Santschi die operationelle Umsetzung der AMSAktivitäten im Südsudan konzeptionell, wissenschaftlich und durch ihre persönliche Präsenz vor Ort unterstützen und Empfehlungen für die weitere Strategieentwicklung erarbeiten.
