Immunotherapy against Alzheimer¿s disease: encapsulated cell devices as a platform for|passive immunization
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
The project will develop an innovative bioactive implant for passive immunization against toxic protein entities involved in|neurodegenerative brain disorders. In particular, we will focus on immunotherapy against the amyloid ! peptide, which|abnormally accumulates in the brain of Alzheimer¿s disease patients and is considered a primary actor in the disease process.|Early intervention is key to the success of neuroprotective treatments for Alzheimer¿s disease. Therefore, our aim is to make|preventive immunization against the amyloid ! peptide affordable to patients using self-sustaining and retrievable cellular|implants.
