In the present project the Institute of Landscape Architecture (ILA) and the Institute for Visual Computing (IVC) from the ETH Zurich investigate and develop - together with the private industry and public image archives - new methods of automated geo-positioning of 3D scans and graphical material and its visualization in a spatial database. The results of this project shall be used in automating the registration of laser scan data and in creating the spatial database system to be used for storing and retrieving image material.
