Feasibility study: Cellengineered matrices for regeneration of tubular urinary tract and vascular structures using bioreactor technology
Abstract
(German)
This project is a feasibility study in the domain of urinary tract and vascular tissue engineering. The aim is to engineer tubular collagen matrices, which are loaded with the respective human cell type, producing the extracellular matrix components. Further, these structures are decellularized, freezedried, to then be used as a commercially available offtheshelf product. This approach uses cells as microfactories to ensure the structure and molecular clues of human ECM, thus providing bioactive properties for the regeneration of tubular urinary tract and/or vascular structures. For this manufacturing a multifunctional flowbioreactor device will be designed and built.
