Maillefer Instruments manufactures and commercializes endodontic files for root canal treatment. At present, these files are produced by conventional machining. Maillefer Instruments is looking for a more cost-effective way of production. Metal injection moulding, as a net shape technique, is promising. The objective of this project is the fabrication of endodontic files by metal injection moulding. The files will have to present the same performances in strength, fatigue and cutting capabilities as the files produced by conventional machining but at reduced fabrication cost.
