Development of a 18F-PET Folate Tracer for Diagnosis and Therapy Planning of Cancer Diseases
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
Non-invasive, nuclear imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET) are crucial for cancer diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring. The folate receptor (FR) is a promising cancer-related target because of its overexpression in a wide variety of tumor types. We will test the first PET-folate tracer in a pilot study in patients. The novel radiotracer is expected to be of major clinical and health economical relevance as it serves for diagnostic purposes and also for identification of patients, who may profit from FR-targeting therapies.
