The aim of the present project is to exploit the advantages of enzymes immobilized on nanomaterials, i.e. their increased activity and stability, for the biocatalytic depolymerisation of lignin. Lignin modifying enzymes (incl. laccase) will be immobilized on nanostructured materials and membranes displaying regenerable activity. The immobilized multi-enzymatic complexes will be applied as a nano-biotechnology process for the production of green polymer composite materials from lignin.
