Abstract

Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a promissing technique to diagnose acute lung collapse in critically ill patients. Thousands of patients and Millions of CHF can potentially be saved with this technology. Swisstom has developed a unique solution (sensor belt) to measure EIT in the clinical setting. The goal of the project is to design and test software to convert the sensor belt data into intuitively understandable pictograms representing lung ventilation, collapse and over distension.
