Interpreting Global Change for Investors
Abstract
(German)
'Global Change' encompassing large scale trends such as the shift of political and economic power, climate change, population growth and resource scarcity has implications for investors. However, beyond the recognition that global change is highly relevant, there is a lack of structured understanding of the phenomenon of global change. Such an understanding is needed to enable investors to assess the multitude of global change issues in a systematic way and to incorporate them into investment decisions. The aims of this project are: a) to develop a framework for a structured assessment of global change; b) to explore investors¿ perception of global change issues and the potential of financial products which systematically address these issues, and c) to empirically test the sensitivity of financial markets towards selected issues.
