Thin-ply technology (TPT) is a breakthrough technology for industrial production of high performance composite parts. By using thinner plies and automated tape deposition to produce complex composite laminates, the Thin-ply technology has the potential to offer a better mechanical performance, a broader flexibility for structural optimization and a reduction of the total production costs. This projects aims at fully optimizing and characterizing the performance of TPT and to assess its technical and economical performance in benchmark applications.
