Kurzbeschreibung (Englisch)

This project includes the production of 8 research/action papers on the Arab World in Transition, and the organization of a series of two symposiums/seminars that will gather new influent Islamic political and intellectual personalities as well as experts for a discussion on the findings of the papers and on entry points for future possible initiatives. The 8 research papers will be published in one consolidated publication that will be disseminated in academic spheres but also to International Civil Servants, think-tanks, and policy makers. The expected general impact is to contribute to smooth processes of change and transition in the MENA, by enhancing dialogue between political actors of different worldviews through research-action.

Projektziele (Englisch)

The aim of the project is twofold:
(1) to better understand the role and action of key religious and political actors in change and transition dynamics in the MENA region (identify key actors and stakeholders and understand their evolution - new democracy paradigm), and
(2) to identify possible actions and initiatives to accompany and support the new actors and the values they embody in the change processes.
