Short description (English)

Being the continuation of the Montreux Initiative and the Zakat Committee Project the Islamic Charity Project (ICP) aims at fostering dialogue and practical solutions with a view of allowing Islamic charities to work in a safe, transparent way which is accepted as sound and non-naïve for all stakeholders. Within this broader framework, the present credit request concerns a follow-up activity to a fact-finding mission to the Gaza Strip undertaken in 2010, that is the publication of a respective Working Paper in English and Arabic, which will be disseminated to key stakeholders in the MENA, the US and elsewhere.

Project aims (English)

The research, information gathering and dissemination of aspects of the project allow a wider public, in the EU, in the USA and elsewhere to be aware of the difficulties and challenges on the way of a fair treatment of Islamic charities.
