Short description (English)

This literature review is the first step in a research project that seeks to identify the ingredients of peaceful transitions from authoritarianism to democratic rule by doing original, theory-informed research on selected country cases.

Project aims (English)

It will describe the nature of the causal factors discovered, the results they are claimed to produce and will offer concrete policy recommendations that can be used in the formulation of Swiss policy in transitional countries.
