Abstract (English)	Currently, weigh in motion (WIM) systems are used for in situ monitoring of important traffic parameters such as gross mass, axle loads, vehicle speed and classification. Kistler corporation¿s market research has shown potential for growth in certain segments of the WIM market worldwide. In this project novel technologies for Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) are considered for the development of a new sensor. The proposed new sensor primarily developed for export purposes is potential for new jobs in production, marketing and sales for Kistler. Empa can provide Kistler with testing facilities, infrastructure and expertise to realize this potential. To this end the model mobile load simulator and the mobile full scale load simulator will be used. The goal of this project is to develop a prototype for introduction to the market.
