Qstent - Introduction of a simple and yet novel concept against heart attacks in the coronary stent market to the benefit of patients and healthcare payers.
Abstract
(Deutsch)
The Qstent, a small metal mesh tube, being implanted into coronary arteries to prevent heart attacks, combines the current advantages of drug-eluting stents (reduced re-narrowing risk) with those of bare metal stents (fast ingrowth; hence reduced thrombosis risk). It therefore shows clear clinical advantages for patients and healthcare payers as it potentially reduces magnitude and duration of post-intervention anti coagulant drug therapies and cumbersome re-interventions.
