An early-warning no-maintenance battery operated sensor system with radio transmission as well as portable analyzers will be developed and field tested. The early warning instruments monitor physicalchemical parameters to detect accidental or malevolent pollutions of reservoir water. Upon indication of a contamination, instruments can be brought on site to analyze specific toxins or contaminants. A biochipbased analyzer will be adapted specifically for this application.
