An existing integrated CAE solution for the layout of steel continuous casting machines and processes is improved. The multiphysics model at the heart of the CAE tool, which includes highly complex non-linear thermal and mechanical effects, is extend to address moving strands with state-of-the art numerical methods. This will provide more accurate and reliable results for the layout of such equipment in an industrial environment.
