The objective of this project is to radically reduce the development time of chemical grinding aids used in the production of cement. Because of the huge volumes involved in cement production, the number of full-scale tests must be reduced. Performance prediction of grinding aids is therefore the main objective of this project and involves two main aspects: ¿ Design reliable laboratory tests by understanding the detailed behaviour of industrial mills ¿ Relating molecular structure to grinding aid performance using molecular modelling to determine key parameters affecting grinding.
