Over the last decade, Galaxyadvisors has developed ¿ partially supported by a CTI grant ¿ a commercial software product for the analysis of social networks, Web monitoring and trend prediction. This software is sold under license and additionally used for consulting. However, it's use is limited to English content. We propose to develop the Web trend prediction software CrystalBall, which will be able to process German and French data sources. Based on the existing dynamic social network analysis tool Condor, CrystalBall will discover events of interest in Germany and France from a large set of data, including social media, business, economic, and political Web based data sources (Google/Yahoo/Bing, Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, Forums, E-Mail) in near real-time. For this we have to extend the current English-only framework to process and analyse German and French texts and we also intend to add analysis techniques to automatically predict future events of interest.
