Abstract (Englisch)

The project aims at developing an ultra-robust, low-cost and self-healing x-ray power generator for medical diagnostic imaging, based on high power/ power-density storage systems (e.g. supercapacitors). This concept must permit usage in spite of power outages which are frequent in highly promising emerging countries¿ markets. The technology will include a novel circuit architecture for a 150 kV tube, with optimized power effectiveness. This concept will strengthen the current competitive position of the industrial partner and allow opening new markets.
