Human genetics-driven discovery of memory-modulating drugs
Abstract
(German)
This project capitalizes on genome-wide human genetic information to identify and test memory-modulating|drugs: In a large genome-wide association study of cognitive functions, we were able to identify several, potentially memory-modulating compounds. Three top candidates will be tested in clinical trials. The identification of memory-modulating drugs is key for improving treatment of disorders with memory|dysfunctions, such as Alzheimer¿s disease, schizophrenia, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
