The currenz project develops an on-line version of Ultrasonic Resonator Technology using a pilot-scale manufacturing vessel for liquid and semi-solid products. Moreover, on-line real shear and Coriolis force sensors are evaluated with respect to providing complementary information to the ultrasound analysis. This fully instrumented mixing and homogenization vessel provides unique manufacturing equipment to the pharmaceutical industry. A high impact us expected on pharmaceutical process development as well as on commercial manufacturing.
