Short description
(French)
Development of a high power 500 MHz solid state amplifier.
Abstract
(English)
We aim to develop a high power (~ 60 kW) continuous wave solid state amplifier at 500 MHz for applications to particle accelerators. The device would be based upon power combination of a large number of MOS transistors each capable of producing ~ 600 W. Such an amplifier would be an excellent candidate to replace the more expensive vacuum electronic tubes currently used to provide radio-frequency power for synchrotron light sources at this frequency. The work will include the development of prototype components and ¿industrialisation¿ of the amplifier.
