The main objective of this project is to design, develop, integrate and validate the necessary technologies enabling wireless tire pressure sensing in future aircrafts landing gears. A wireless solution will bring significant advantages over existing wired systems and will render aircraft tire pressure sensing easier and less expensive to operate and maintain. Technical challenges are mainly due to the complex, metallic and harsh environment and the need of a small-footprint, light-weight and self-powered sensor module.
