Improvement and characterization of VECSEL mid-Infrared lasers for their implementation in gas sensing units with a broad tuning range.
Abstract
(Deutsch)
Phocone, an ETH Zurich spin-off, develops Vertical External Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VECSEL) for the mid-infrared wavelength range (3-5 ìm). The laser modules are very broadly tunable, and thus very well suited for novel gas sensing applications. In the course of this project, the laser emission will be improved and optimized for specific gas sensing applications: the measurement of common organic compounds with synthetic air as background as well as of gas mixtures. In a demonstration setup to be built, the actual application will be realized.
