Functional foods are assuming a growing role in the gap between the traditional food and pharma industries as an attractive way to maintain health using active ingredients of natural origin. This project proposal concerns the validation of an innovative proproetary functional food ingredient in humans for its impact on metabolic parameters. To expand the potential addressable market, this ingredient, as well as certain signature compounds, shall be also investigated for applications in stress related and cognitive disorders.
