MultiSense: Design of a high-speed, high-precision miniaturized mechano-optical touch-trigger probe for use on 3D coordinate measuring machines
Abstract
(Englisch)
The aim of the project is to develop a ready-for-industrialization prototype of a novel touch-trigger probe outperforming existing products in terms of precision, speed, repeatability and cost. The probe is based on a mechano-optical transducer converting the probing stylus movements into appropriate homogenous displacements of an optical device that can be measured by means of an optical encoder able to detect X, Y and Z nanometric moves in less than 5 ìs. This project is split in two phases, the first one being concluded by a go / no go meeting. This application for funding covers only the first phase.
