Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Anglais)
We develop a prototype of a compact laser diode interferometer for length metrology. The main focus will be on innovations that help to reduce the sensor cost. Specifically, we will use vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL) as the light source, stabilized on micro-fabricated absorption cells. To cope with the relatively modest coherence length of these lasers, we will use appropriate signal acquisition and processing that allows us to measure beyond the coherence length of the lasers. The quadrature detection of the interferometric phase will be done in a very cost efficient way using binary phase gratings.
