The idea underlying to the OSCE database project is to tade advantage of the new possibilities offered by the Internet in order to set up an electronic database of existing documentation and secondary literature related to the OSCE.

Abstract (Englisch)

Two institutions will carry out the project over a 2 year period: the "OSCE Cluster of Competence" led jointly by Prof. Ghebali and Dr. Warner and the "Centre for OSCE Research" represented by Dr. Zellner. These two institutions will take advantage of the new possibilities offered by the Internet in order to set up a comprehensive elctronic database of all the existing documentation related to the CSCE/OSCE from the year 1972 (dipoli informal negotiations) onwards. The idea is not to move the archives into one single building, but rather to network the places where documents have been produced and conserved (Geneva, Helsinki, Vienna, Prague, depository libraries, countries of the Chairman-in-Office, etc.). Each institution will hire someone half time for a period of two years.
