realisation of a fluorescent immunosensor using transparent waveguide devices
Abstract
(English)
The project Fluosens aims to develop a small, low-cost fluorescence detection of several analytes.
Previous work at CSEM (in the EU project Biodam) has shown the potential of fluorescence measurements for rapid and sensitive detection of antibiotic vontaminants of milk. In Fluosens the existing fluorescence detection technology was extended to allow the simultaneous measurements of several analytes using a chip with multiple gratings. Instrument modules were developed for use with disposable glass and silicon-based waveguide chips.
Applications of the instruments are foreseen in the detection of contaminants (such as antibiotics and pesticides) in food and water.
Follow up
(English)
Follow-up projects have been started in the fields of pesticide detection in food extracts, and medical diagnostics
